Cartoon of the Day: Swine Flu

I found this simplistic little gem on cartoonstock.com.  The catchy name “Swine Flu” has been denounced by the US Department of Health as a misleading title that might end up hurting the pork industry.  Does nobody have a heart for the alphanumeric industry?

Housing Sales Increase but Questions Remain

Housing Sales Increase but Questions Remain By Burt Carey   Big bankers and mortgage lenders like Bank of America and Merrill Lynch say changing demographics are fueling a first-time home buyers market in 2015 that may be short-lived. Real estate, it seems, is heating up – at least for value seekers. At the current rate, home sales are on pace to post their best year since 2007, even with increased prices. Fueling the action are … [Read More its Good for You.....]

Thanks IPad, you made my kid a DRONE!

Thanks IPad, you made my kid a DRONE! I'm Will Roberts, and this is the Daily Scream! Ahhh, here we go! Let me be the first to tell you that I am the type of cowboy that if something was happening, and I thought I could help, I’d jump right in. Not sure if that is because of some deep meaning in me OR just stupidity. So here is the situation: I pull up to the doctor’s office today, but I am ok, and as I pull in, I hear… “Give me the keys, … [Read More its Good for You...]

Reason to Carry

Reason to Carry by Rich Grassi     I was recently asked to give the top ten reasons to carry a concealed handgun. The concept surprised me, but I quickly defaulted to my family, myself and my community. I couldn’t come up with ten reasons unless I started with the names of the people for whom I care deeply. I’m sure it wasn’t meant that way. I have to conclude that the question was serious. The sole reason I … [Read More its Good for You...]

Questions Remain for NFL’s Premiere

Questions Remain for NFL’s Premiere by Amy Lignor   The score was 39-26 – not exactly the numbers usually found in a preseason match-up – when the Eagles beat the Green Bay Packers (gasp). But the score was not the only surprise in the game and Sam Bradford wasn’t the only QB that made mincemeat of the Packers’ secondary. Mark Sanchez can be credited for racking up 150 yards and two (count em: two) touchdowns. This is … [Read More its Good for You...]

Falling Crude Oil Prices Lead to Oil Company Layoffs

Falling Crude Oil Prices Lead to Oil Company Layoffs By Burt Carey Crude oil traded at just $40 per barrel last week, adding to the dramatic downfall in gasoline prices at the pump for consumers. But cheap gas isn’t being heralded by more than 100,000 American workers whose jobs have disappeared since June 2014 because of it. Oil giant ConocoPhillips announced this week that it will lay off 10 percent of its workforce, some 1,800 … [Read More its Good for You...]

Looking Forward to the Winter Getaway by Amy Lignor   Yes, the kids have just gone back to school and summer will be saying aloha very soon. But although it may seem far too early to be planning that winter break getaway, it is most definitely not. An EPA “Accident” Turns Into Far More

An EPA “Accident” Turns Into Far More ~ by Amy Lignor What began as an “accident” made by the EPA in Denver, Colorado, has now opened a can of even more worms showing that the EPA, itself, actually had pre-knowledge that an environmental accident could occur in the first place during their project. For those who may not know, two weeks back a waste spill happened of approximately three million gallons of mine waste, when the EPA … [Read More its Good for You...]
