Black Friday May Turn 100% Digital Very Soon

by Amy Lignor

Boy, have times changed. There were millions once upon a time who waited in line until the doors opened on Black Friday in order to get that perfect gift they just had to have that was on sale for that one day only. Then…Bill Gates had an idea and Cyber Monday eventually came into being; the Black Friday, Online Specials, Cyber Monday, shopping in your pajamas, Internet shopping, hottest gift ideascomputer was suddenly a place to shop that everyone seemed to fall in love with. And why wouldn’t they? You could shop, get all the best deals, and never have to go through the frightening moment of wondering how many people in line would run over you in order to get the new big screen TV on sale.

2015 proved that Black Friday was fading when it came to stores; it turned into another Cyber Monday. Basically most all of the population decided that staying home, drinking coffee, sitting in their bathrobes, was far more relaxing. So what’s the outlook for 2016? Get the coffee cups ready, folks, because Black Friday and Cyber Monday will both focus on Internet shopping, with storefronts taking a backseat…where they could remain for the rest of time.

Every year when the trick-o’-treating is complete and the lawn decorations of pumpkins and smiley cats have been replaced with big turkeys filled with air, shoppers set their sights on Black Friday. Once the biggest retail day of the year, braving the brick-and-mortar stores, though still a thrill to some, is not what people are thinking about. They have already been looking on everything from Twitter to Facebook to Pinterest to see the latest gift ideas, as well as interior decorating products to make their own houses gleam and shine for the Christmas holiday.

Even retailers, themselves, know that Internet sales will once again increase more than ten-fold in 2016, with Amazon leading the way. Yes, there is J.C. Penney, Macy’s, Bass Pro Shops for the outdoorsy type, your Petco savings for those beloved four-legged family members, and more. But Amazon has already released its customary “preview” of the deals that will arrive on Black Friday. Which means, although comparison shopping is the best thing to do, Amazon will (most likely) be giving away the best deals from books to kids’ toys to clothing to sporting goods. And…of course, don’t forget those electronics that everyone seems to still be dying to own.

The hottest gift ideas, you ask? Well, no surprise; that digital technological inferno is still riding high on the top of everyone’s list, and one of the most amazing deals will be the Amazon Echo. On Black Friday $40 will be taken off the list price for those who want a voice controlled, cloud-based 360-degree smart speaker with 7 built-in microphones. You can play the tunes, order pizza – you name it.

Next up will be the Echo Dot. $10 off the price and is literally an Echo “mini-me.” For the same money off list, there is the Amazon Fire TV Stick with Alexa Voice Remote, which plugs into any HDTV to connect you with streaming services like Netflix. Via the Alexa system, you can use voice commands to control any smart device in your house. Feeling lazy yet? You should be. With these products you’ll never have to get off the couch.

Amazon also has made sure that the category of big screen TV is on the “hot” list for Christmas, 2016. This time around, it will be a 33% reduction in price on a 55-inch LG smart OLED TV. In other words, the TV will be so grandiose that you’ll most likely be able to sit in your neighbor’s living room and look into your own home and see the picture clearly.

If you’re not a technological wizard, however, do not fear. There will also be Internet pages upon pages of kitchen items, clothing, toys and more, with bargains you’ll have to see to believe. And on top of Black Friday, they are also offering discounts every day up until Black Friday in order to get you to shop now and not have to wait for the day to come.

The way things are looking, Christmas 2017 may see storefronts closing altogether. After all, with the Internet in place and doing extremely well, it’s far easier to get the best without going through the worst by simply booting up your PC and settling in.

Happy Shopping!

Prodigal Daughter Tries to Reconcile with Estranged Dad in Haunting Parable of Biblical Proportions

The Levelling Film Review by Kam Williams Prodigal Daughter Tries to Reconcile with Estranged Dad in Haunting Parable of Biblical Proportions It's not very clear whether Harry Catto's (Joe Blakemore) death was a murder or a suicide. One thing's for certain, though. It wasn't merely a mishap, because nobody accidentally sticks a gun in his own mouth and pulls the trigger. The cops suspect that he killed himself, but his father (David … [Read More its Good for You.....]

Will NASCAR Theatrics Bring Back Viewers? by Amy Lignor   For any of the millions who once watched ABC’s Wide World of Sports and heard the words “the thrill of victory and the agony of defeat,” they remember the footage of a skier’s crash when it came to the “agony” side of things.
