Be First Media Explores the ‘NET’ Generation!

Be First Explores the ‘NET’ Generation!

Social media is all about getting your company into the public eye. There is no mistaking that the internet is the first and best source in establishing information, advertising and marketing a product, and building your business. But what all this involves is the fact that you must truly find a company that is skilled and experienced in the social media realm so that YOUR company finds its ‘name’ in the industry.

Now, one of the largest demographics to understand as well as cater to, is Generation Y (AKA: the NET Generation). As a person who comes from Generation X, lets just say that the ‘Y’ gang knows far more about computers, social media, Facebook, YouTube, blogs, dashboards and other channels that must be utilized in order to build a solid reputation as a company and increase ROI.

As we all know, the 2007 through 2012 global financial crisis has had a major impact on this generation. We are speaking about the historically high levels of unemployment, which is quickly leading to speculation about the possible long term economic effects and damage that may weigh on Generation Y’s shoulders. However, when it comes to the world of social media and knowing the demographics necessary to intrigue and build a client base, Be First Inc. knows that the NET Generation is one that must be catered to so that revenue can be built. What are the stats when focusing on this generation? Well…the stats and demographics for social media are absolutely huge. Think about it…

The Net Generation, as all employers already know, utilize technology in order to be a part of the world in many diverse ways and in greater numbers than ANY other generation. All companies brand managers, marketers – everyone trying to build a business – can tap into this gadget-savvy, brand-aware demographic, just by coming to the understanding of what this NET group knows. Brand awareness, which is the biggest factor when it comes to building your business, is well-known and well-used by age groups ranging from 18-35.

Whereas the older age groups know all about what their favorite stores may be, this group is intent on looking stores and products up on the internet and either spreading the word to their friends on various social media channels, or touting brands themselves over Facebook, Twitter, etc. Not only that, but when this generation invests their money into a new technological gift to the world, more than half are already searching for the next big thing almost the moment after their purchase is complete.

Many of these people also make their social media channels public, which means their information, queries, and attitudes are released to many individuals at one time. Think about that! Your company, your brand – if this is something that age group is excited by, you are talking about a ‘free’ social media campaign and ‘free’ online advertising just because they send that information out to their friends and contacts. (One piece of data you should know is that almost 75% of these people have 300 friends or over that their information is sent to automatically!)

You are also speaking about a group that not only visits Facebook and Twitter over ten times per day – whether it be to post or research a new product – but they also spend more than an hour per day on the sites.

Social media is all about ‘gadgets.’ Whereas everything used to be based on that home computer where you could really only visit ‘social media channels’ after work – now, with laptops, cell phones, blackberries, iPods, and MP3 players – you are talking about a constant line of technology that is streaming information at a rapid pace. And to become a part of that – successfully – means to hire a team that can monitor everything that is said and done – good and bad – when it comes to your company’s listings.

You are also talking about a generation of bloggers. There are millions of websites with everything from book reviewers to simple online places to chat about everything from products to politics – which means online advertising can bring you and your company to the forefront of all these chats, and can be monitored 24/7 by the Be First team.

The frequency of texting, as we all know, has also become astronomical. 18 to 35-year-olds are constantly texting their friends and contacts about the newest item they’ve seen in the stores or run across on the internet channels. Again, this is a customer base that can build your client list by simple word of mouth. Whereas ‘word of mouth’ used to be just a few women at lunch or a few men on the golf course, it has become a solid fact that one word of mouth texted, blogged, or released on the Internet Superhighway can pull in hundreds upon thousands of clients to YOUR site in one day. Which means… That website, that blog – everything has to be state-of-the-art and visually stimulating in order to engage a reader and keep them coming back for more! Yet another skill that Be First provides.

Other socio-economic groups do not display the same attributes as the Net Generation. In fact, there are many reports regarding how teens and young adults, as well as adults in their late twenties/early thirties, use media as their one and only source for the latest news and information. Because of this particular trait, all businesses – no matter what the product – needs to apply certain things to their websites, as well as the monitoring of Facebook, Twitter, etc. in order to grow and thrive.

Social networking is a must have, seeing as that it is one of the few lines of communication that is now used on a daily basis. And with the Be First team behind your company, not only will you succeed in reaching the Net Generation – but you will succeed in increasing your business!

There Are Superheroes Among Us

There Are Superheroes Among Us by Amy Lignor   This story truly proves that a superhero does not require a cape, tights, or the ability to fly. In a world where all headlines seem to be centered around who shot who, who is being put upon, who’s “getting away with it” – all the way to who is getting divorced and who may or may not be kneeling at NFL games – negative stories seem to be the only ones covered anymore by the media. … [Read More its Good for You...]
