AVM Industries Debuts Sky Roof Coating 880 at WOC 2014

AVM Industries is set to debut its new Sky Roof Coating 880, a VOC-free, highly reflective and energy efficient 100% polyurethane water-based membrane at World of Concrete 2014. But what sets the Sky Roof Coating 880 system apart?

We spoke with Aaron Moskowitz, AVM Industries’ Director of Marketing to find out. “The Sky Roof Coating 880 is so amazing, so innovative because of its unique very easy and efficient roll-on or spray-on application process, (one day application in most cases), it’s VOC-free, withstands ponding and pooling of water, and is one of the most reflective coatings in the industry.” (Initial SRI is 114)

Hospital Re-Roof 1 smSky Roof Coating 880 is made with eco-friendly, energy efficient polyurethane – creating a true water-proof membrane that can be warranted for long periods of time with minimal maintenance, depending on application. Roofing and waterproofing professionals will love the one day, hassle-free application process and versatility while homeowners will love lower rooftop temperatures, big energy savings, and low maintenance costs.

Moving Beyond Conventional Solutions

Many water-based roof coatings are made with acrylic which, while a big part of the market, cannot withstand ponding water nor are they as durable and thus are more prone to fail. (Show us a flat roof that doesn’t have puddles) The good news: they can be bright, highly reflective and are great for high traffic areas. The bad news: they are very sensitive to substrate conditions such as poor sloping requiring at times significant investments in substrate repairs and preparation. It’s also important to note that acrylic water-based roof coating manufacturers won’t warranty their coatings if exposed to standing water!

But Sky Roof Coating 880 is different. It not only withstands the ponding of water, but is one of the few solutions in the industry that offers a warranty even with ponding water. It’s extremely durable, bright, highly reflective and can even handle light foot traffic. You can even use the product as a potential pond liner – and since it’s VOC-free, it’s perfect for water features and more.

Easy to Apply, Easy to Maintain

Metal Roof 1 (Lab) smDeveloped from the ground up to meet the demands of both the modern waterproofing and roofing industry, you only need a day to apply it and it’s ready in most situations for light foot traffic within 4-6 hours.

Application is a snap – use your choice of roller, brush, squeegee or airless sprayer. You can apply it as a sealer coat, single membrane or double membrane system, and it cures in as little as 4 hours. It even withstands ponding water, has a high SRI and has received a rating from the Cool Roof Rating Council.

Apply it over your existing built up or single-ply roof membranes or use it on a brand new roof. It bonds well to substrates like concrete, SPF, TPO, PVC aluminum, galvanized steel, stainless steel, copper and wood. It’s a versatile material that waterproofs protects and endures.
