Art Painters Laura Lacambra Shubert and Sabre Esler To Be Featured at Stellers Gallery

Stellers Gallery at Ponte Vedra will display the new artwork of renowned fine art painters, Laura Lacambra Shubert and Sabre Esler. The show opening and artist’s reception will be held on Friday, April 20 from 5:30 pm until 8:30 pm. at 240 A1A North, Ste. 13 in Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla. The work will remain on display until May 14.

Shubert’s art uses light and shadow, and intense colors that arekey elements in her work. Tones of gray serve as undercurrents among simple subject matter. Red wine in a paper-thin glass, bare feet pressed onto a sandy beach, fragments of tile on a patio floor, dramatic and elegant rooms, the faceof a French chalet, and the radiant fire of a candle represent the typical subjects painted by Shubert.

According to Shubert, her work is dominated by studies of figures and environments. “The viewer will see that I paint torsos beginning at the neck, ending above the knees or at the foot. This enables me to integrate figures and physical space into my work as patterns of colors, textures andshapes,” Shubert said. “My subjects are treated with functional anonymity, yet are true and accurate. The paintings convey a sense of wellbeing, of the good life and of deep and quiet pleasures,” she said.

Shubert was born in Durham, North Carolina, raised in Florida and Spain, and at a young age chose art as a career. Laura received a B.F.A. from Southern Methodist University where she studied painting, drawing and printmaking. Shortly after, she studied painting at the Academie Port Royal in Paris. Her work can be found in private and corporate collections in the United States and abroad, and is exhibited in several galleries throughout the United States. Laura Lacambra Shubert resides in Winter Park, Florida.

Esler’s work is figurative with landscapes, cityscapes, as wellas still life subjects and the natural interaction of people and how they communicate with body language. Her vivid palette, impasto textures andexpressionist spirit result in energetic canvases that reflect a sense of joiede vivre.

One of Georgia’ smost exciting emerging artists, Esler’s works are cutting-edge fresh, yet classical in style. Esler studied under the Chatov family, one of Atlanta’s most prominent artist families who specialize in teaching and exhibiting their renowned and commissioned portraits. Her work has been collected by numerous corporate and private collectors including Georgian Bank, Atlantic Capital Bank, and Oglethorpe Bank, as well as coastal resorts Kiawah and Wild Dunes.

Esler is greatly influenced by the American Expressionists. She focuses on finding the form and space of a figure along with the energy and spontaneity in each of her paintings through color and texture. Esler uses a variety of textures from carving through layers of paint on the canvas to integrating gauze strips into her compositions.
