The Anastasia Island and Ponte Vedra Branch Public Libraries invite residents to a special “Sisterhood of the Traveling Plants” decorating show titled “Victorian Language of Flowers.” As part of their month long celebration of The Yard, the 2013 St. Johns Reads Book, both branches will host an interactive show in which participants will learn how to use food and flowers to craft decorative arrangements with a Victorian twist.
The first show will begin at 2 p.m. on Saturday, February 23 at the Anastasia Island Branch Library. The second show is scheduled for 2 p.m. on Thursday, February 28 at the Ponte Vedra Beach Branch Library. These special presentations will be led by The Sisterhood, a group comprised of members of the Garden Club of St. Augustine which supports beautification and appreciation of the natural elements.
The shows are generously sponsored by the Friends of the Anastasia Island Branch Library and the Friends of the Ponte Vedra Beach Branch Library. Light refreshments will be provided courtesy of The Friends of the Library organizations. In addition, raffle tickets will be available for purchase with proceeds used to help sponsor the shows. Winners will receive decorative arrangements made by The Sisterhood.
