A Social Christmas: Watching the Tube

by Carmen Schwartz

It’s Christmas Season, for goodness sake. Of course, you’re going to gather in the room in front of the big screen and watch the game. It is an American tradition to see your favorite two teams on the gridiron before they share a turkey leg and call it a day.

But when it comes to social media – when it comes to all those consumers who will not be watching that particular tube, it is the Social Media Team 3power of YouTube that you need to be a part of when the shoppers and not the footballers come to town.

People are turning on YouTube and looking for the channels regarding your brand. They want to see your products in action before they purchase; and they are in the holiday spirit and ready to buy. Not to mention, they will be full of turkey and having a nice, relaxing day.

Yes, the images that are on YouTube are many and varied, but more and more social media/PR companies are taking their clients into that realm so that their target audience can be reached. One company, Husky Liners, has its own channel (for example). On this channel they offer a slew of videos that prove to their customers that they not only have the best truck accessories, but also that these accessories work. With just this channel, just these advertisements and commercials, Husky has created a new springboard for profit. They are drawing in those customers so that their products and accessories will be wrapped up and sitting under every Christmas tree for the grateful recipient.

Companies, sponsors, advertisers – YouTube was created just for them. On YouTube, companies can talk to businessmen and housewives; they can reach out with their products and devise media campaigns that increase their company’s ROI. The cash rolls in and everyone is happy for the holidays.

Women are still the number one target for company’s out there. They hold the shopping power in their hands to this day, and the advertisements, channels, commercials – everything you have as a company – can be delivered to these women through YouTube. Not to mention, many people are through with the whole shopping mall, Black Friday world. They want nothing more than to sit at home, online and purchase their list of gifts in peace and quiet. In other words, if you have a YouTube channel, you will have them in you sights and can relate directly to them.

YouTube, like the Tube before it, continues to gain leverage with the world, and a great social media/PR team will learn how to take advantage of that fact and make sure your social media campaign and channel on YouTube make you a profitable star in your industry.

YouTube understands the breakdown of content; this is a platform that offers content that expressly hits the needs and focus of specific audiences. And your company’s channel can be marketed to the extreme on YouTube, allowing those holiday shoppers to get an eyeful of what they just ‘have to have’ this year.

Make sure you hire the social media/PR team that understands how to harness those tens of millions who are always (especially now with the holidays approaching), looking for the newest, best, or most affordable product out there. And if you’re based in a small industry niche, make sure your social media/PR team is the one that can spread the word faster so that your company can succeed.

As the gridiron gears up this Christmas Season, the computers will gear up in other rooms of the house. The shoppers will be searching for the best – so make sure to give it to them!

Utilize the shopping ‘Tube’!

The Day After the Day Of

The Day After the Day Of by Paul Ilechko   The sky sheds its tears. This morning is the morning of the day after. The day of mourning, the day after the day of.  I beseech the sky to shed tears in order to wash away the tears on my face.   This is the first day of the time after. History Being Sold to the Highest Bidder

History Being Sold to the Highest Bidder by Amy Lignor   For the longest time, scientists and archaeologists have been confused and bemused by various discoveries they’ve unearthed that offer little or no explanation as to the who, what, and why of the people who created these things or left them behind. Even now, in 2017, there are discoveries being studied; stories that were once legends now have actual bits of proof being found that … [Read More its Good for You.....]

Trump and Traditions of the Founders

Trump and Traditions of the Founders By Ezrah Aharone Maybe I should watch more CNN or MSNBC to be convinced since most Black people seemingly regard Donald Trump as some sort of abrupt political mutation who violates America’s traditions. What I see in Trump is “America’s traditional reflection in the mirror.” I see the exact same hardline and hostile government that the founders deliberately engineered with deep political and racial … [Read More its Good for You...]

Super Bowl LI’s Message: Patriotism

Super Bowl LI’s Message: Patriotism by Amy Lignor   There are some people waking up this morning completely stunned. Why? Because they shut the Super Bowl off after the third quarter. They knew what was “going to happen” and had to go to work today, so why bother staying up and watching the rest of what was going to be an obvious blow-out? Besides, they had been given some memorable commercials, a great country western singer ushering … [Read More its Good for You...]
