You Can’t Have a Good Marriage Without Her!

 

This week we have been speaking about optimization and how your company has to have a social media team at work in 2013 to edit your website, offer consumers what they need in the form of product details, reviews, and a good customer service department. And, above all, how to place those specific keywords into your site that has the search engines – Google, Facebook, etc. – calling up YOUR company’s website before all others when a customer is looking for that item that you sell. You have to be number one on that long list of responses by the search engines so that consumers see that you are the best of the best. But what most companies don’t understand is that search engines are, above all, the most important social media tool in order to create profits.

 

Yes…having a well-designed, stunningly visual website is a ‘primo’ advantage. It’s also necessary to run that event, contest, or special Be First logooffer on that landing page to consumers that is better than all the rest. BUT, even if you have the most creative and decorative website imaginable, if people don’t see the link, they’re simply not going there. And it is those search engine lists (as we all know) that brings your link – your website – into the consumer’s life. If you don’t make that list, it’s a lot like being cut from the NFL. You may have played well. You may have the skill and knowledge and even a product that can’t be beat – but you just weren’t seen. You weren’t able to break through the pack and the coaches simply didn’t see you. So…you’re out!

 

The ‘marriage’ between business and consumer – you hope – is a long one. In fact, you want it to be eternal. You want it to be one of those marriages that does not end in divorce. The way to do this – the first way to do this – is by presenting the ultimate ‘ring’ to the bride. Your company’s ‘ring’ is being able to be the first name on ‘her’ list by having the search engine pull up your company’s data before anyone else’s.

 

It was way back in 1997 that it was recognized by marketers and advertisers that search engines were what offered companies the ability to ‘rank’ high up in people’s industry-specific searches. With keywords that worked, tags that worked, and walls that were knocked down so that search engines could read your company’s information – Be First Media Group eventually progressed in the direction of that ‘perfect marriage.’ And, in 2013, that marriage must begin before you literally fall off the list of available ‘grooms.’

 

Some companies are still working the old way, by cramming their websites with irrelevant keywords that make no sense when it comes to their search. And whether it be local, national or international – your company needs to be at the top of the list when it comes to a consumer’s search.

When this occurs, you NEED to make sure that your site is absolutely relevant to the city you’re trying to reach, so your keywords MUST be a part of what those specific people will be typing into their Google search bar.
