Public Invited to Friends of A1A Wayfinding Workshops on Aug28 2010

Friends of A1A Scenic & Historic Coastal Byway invites the public to attend workshops to share information and receive input for A1A Scenic and Historic Byway wayfinding sign designs. The wayfinding master plan will cover the 72-mile corridor through St. Johns and Flagler counties.

The purpose of the workshops is to receive public comment on the design (color, style, shape, locations) for the master wayfinding plan under development by AECOM and Friends of A1A.

The date, time, and location of the workshops are as follows. Stop by any time between the designated times listed.

A map of the general area and all intrinsic features can be found on the Friends of A1A website at: www.scenica1a.org along with other information regarding the A1A Scenic and Historic Coastal Byway. Funding for the Wayfinding project is being provided by a grant from the Federal Highway Administration’s National Scenic Byway Program. Friends of A1A Scenic and Historic Coastal Byway is a non-profit organization that protects, preserves, and enhances resources along the A1A National Scenic Byway. This citizen’s advocacy group partners with municipalities, governmental agencies and other civic groups to maintain and improve resources along the corridor. Designated in 2002, the Byway is rich in history, nature, archeology, culture, scenery and recreation. The Friends of A1A’s efforts benefit residents and travelers alike by maintaining the identified intrinsic resources while allowing economic development.
