Honeymoon Stories Lure National Journalists

From ‘Better Homes and Gardens’ magazine and Hernando Today News to www.GlobalTrekkers.com and www.Gayot.com, travel and food writers from around the US joined publicist Leigh Cort and the Inns of Elegancefor four days of adventure in America’s oldest city. St. Augustine’s romantic allure for weddings and honeymoons was the theme chosen by Cort on behalf of the five historic bed & breakfast inns.

Experiencing some of the unique attractions that included the Fountain of Youth and an eco boat adventure with St. Augustine Eco Tours, the writers were educated and entertained by Old Town Trolley throughout their stay. Although each print and online publication will eventually feature a unique angle of their St. Augustine vacation, the group enjoyed dining together and touring the inns for a glimpse into the charm and romance of each inn presented by the innkeepers themselves.

History usually plays a significant role to visitors. Thus, a presentation by Dana Ste. Claire about the upcoming 450thBirthday Celebration was an important addition to the writers’ itinerary. And what is a vacation without exploring the diversity of St. Augustine restaurants? ~ Columbia Restaurant for Spanish, O.C. White’s for local Florida seafood and Bistro de Leon for authentic French cuisine~.

According to www.MediaBistro.com “In more than half of U.S. states, the travel and tourism industry serves as the first, second or third largest employer. Today, because of the economic downturn, the industry is facing long-term challenges in how consumers and businesses perceive travel entirely. Through strategic media outreach, creative publicity campaigns and the use of social media, the degree of separation between a travel client and its customers quickly narrows. According to Cort, it’s also about guaranteeing solid, in-person relationships with professional travel journalists”.
