Local Subaru Dealership to ‘Share the Love’ this Holiday Season on Nov22 2009

The Subaru dealership in Jacksonville, Florida is ringing in the holidays with Meals on Wheels as part of Subaru’s national “Share the Love” campaign.

“We are so pleased our local Subaru dealership has stepped up to the plate to help us during the holidays by delivering meals to seniors in our community on November 24th and November 25th,” said Terri Barton, Executive Director of Urban Jacksonville, Inc. and The Cathedral Foundation. “Many of the seniors we serve spend the holidays alone in their homes. A nutritious meal from a friendly volunteer makes all the difference in the world.”

Based on the love Subaru owners have for their vehicles and their desire to help worthy causes, the “Subaru Share the Love” campaign comes at a critical time as Meals on Wheels programs across the country are struggling for donations and volunteers in this economic climate.

“1 in 9 seniors in America is facing the threat of hunger right now,” said Enid Borden, President and CEO of Meals on Wheels Association of America (MOWAA). “Subaru’s commitment to our cause will truly help us provide the next meal ‘so no senior goes hungry.”
