The St. Augustine Art Association and Classic Blends are launching a new event called Rough Cuts to showcase student and faculty achievements in film production at Flagler College.  Rough Cuts will take place in the Art Association’s Main Gallery on Saturday, Dec. 5 and feature a variety of the best short films produced by Flagler’s communication department.

The event welcomes the entire community for hors d’oeuvres and a night of entertainment in support of the arts.  Each audience member will be invited to participate in the final jurying process by casting their vote for the top films in designated categories.  A panel will follow the exhibition and awards will go to the highest ranked filmmakers.

“I’m thrilled about the partnering of the St. Augustine Art Association with the Flagler College communication department,” says department Chair Tracy Halcomb.  “Rough Cuts provides a great opportunity to bring the community together for lost cost, high-quality entertainment.  We will be showcasing multiple genres, including localized productions highlighting specific aspects of St. Augustine life.”

There will be a minimal cover charge at the door that will qualify entrants for raffle prizes.  Doors will open at 6 p.m. and films will roll at 7 p.m.
